What a day! It was a day filled with excitement, facination, and smiles. You know, the days that you long for once you're an adult. The days where there are no worries in the world, you discover the awe of discovery, and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch! This was our day!
For some, 4:30 a.m. is pretty early, but not for our new milk delivery man named Bob. This is where my excitement got me bouncing out of bed this morning to see that our milk had indeed ARRIVED! You could say that I was the sucker that signed up for the delivery service. I mean really---who has milk delivered to their house?!?! I DO!!!!!! I NEVER sign up for things--especially milk delivery. But, for some reason, I was in a good (or desperate) mood the day Tracy came knocking on our door.
I have to admit, my mind always jumps back to our local Prairie Farms store that had the glass bottles of milk growing up. I am a sucker for the days of long ago. But I'm probably a bigger sucker for a deal! This milk is delivered right to our door, once a week, for free (for 6 months). This milk is the same price that we are already paying---but it's delivered to our door---for free!!!!! Yes, the free home delivery was what sealed the deal. I have been GIDDY over this for the last couple of days and I could barely sleep last night because I was so excited for the delivery today! It truly is the little things in life.
After our wonderful and exciting start to our day, we ventured outside to play. Blake immediately came running up with the same amount of excitement that I just had with the milk. (I just LOVE learning about the world through his eyes)! He had discovered all of these small little insects. There were probably 10+ baby praying mantis scurrying around outside our front door. I immediately ran for my camera. What an awesome way to start our summer unit on Animal Babies!
Later on in the afternoon, Layne was continuing to fuss more than usual. I've suspected for a while now that she must be teething. Finally, after a week of not being herself and more clingy than usual, it was confirmed that her FIRST tooth just popped through! Our friend, Gracie, stopped by to check on Layne and offered her ALL of her pacifiers! Let's hope everyone gets a good night sleep tonight.
