.......to me, and my cousin- Jeremy, and a number of other great people including- Lilly Pulitizer. (This must be why I LOVE pink and green). If you know me very well or have read this blog for awhile, then you know that I really don't like celebrating my birthday. However, this year, I've taken a different spin on things. Instead of dreading this day (and the bad luck that it seems to bring), I've been so excited to celebrate with just my family of four. I've spent the entire day just playing and staring at my two kids. While I'm reminded on this day how short life is, I'm also thrilled for so many opportunities---one of which, being a MOM.
This afternoon we had to take a short break from celebrating to take Layne to the doctor. Good news, everything checked out just fine. And even better news was that she's gained almost an entire pound in 10 days! Last Monday she weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. Today she weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. Yippy!!!!!
After the appointment, Blake and I gave Layne her first bath. Blake was thrilled to help! Layne did great and loved every minute of the bath-----until it was over. Next time I'll remember to put the space heater on in her room to warm it up. All of those things you learn again with a newborn in the house.
Here she is as snug as a bug in a rug! Blake is learning to say that and it's soooooo cute.
