A WEEKEND IN THE WINDY CITY

Our 2nd annual holiday trip to Chicago was nothing short of WONDERFUL.  Have I told you how much I LOVE Chicago!  My first flight was into Chicago, we were engaged in Chicago, and many other great memories have been made in Chicago.
This year, it was three couples (with kids in tow) ready for holiday fun in the big city.  It was a memorable weekend......and a more memorable drive home.  Here's a recap.....

Friday night we ate dinner at The Park Grill.  The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink was right outside our window.

We introduced technology this year to our trip.  It was FABULOUS----and proved to be our life saver!
The boys were at it again!  Between jumping on beds, hiding behind curtains, and twirling each other in chairs----we think this is only the beginning of what these boys will be into.  And this was all after a day full of shopping and site seeing down Michigan Avenue.

Thank goodness Caroline was there to rein these boys in.
Saturday night was our FIRST night out as couples since the kids were born!  Carnivale was the perfect place for dinner.  (It even reminded me of a few restaurants in Florida!)  We had so much fun and so much to celebrate.
The GIRLS-- Jill, Erin, me
The GUYS-- Kevin, Jason, Eric
We finished the night off with drinks at THE Signature Room.  A winter storm was setting in so the views weren't stellar....but the company was superb!

The next morning we woke up to that nasty winter storm.  We walked 2 blocks to eat a quick breakfast and knew we needed to get on the road.  All I have to say is that I will N.E.V.E.R do that again!  The last hour of our drive was terrifying to say the least.  We had complete "white outs".  The Lord was definitely watching over all of us!  We were so thankful to be home!

Since I was terrified to take my eyes off the road (and I wasn't driving)--this is the best image I could find online to show the driving conditions.  We left Chicago around noon and you would have thought it was midnight.

Thank you Engle's and Smith's for an incredible weekend.  Can't wait for next year!!!!
